FAQs

What is high capacity radio relay?

A high-capacity radio relay system is a communication infrastructure that uses radio waves to transmit large volumes of data over long distances. It typically involves point-to-point or point-to-multipoint microwave links, providing a high-capacity backbone for telecommunications networks. These systems are crucial for long-distance and high-bandwidth communication, often used in scenarios like backhaul connections for mobile networks or interconnecting data centers.

What is the range of high capacity radio relay?

The range of high-capacity radio relay systems can vary based on factors like frequency, equipment, and atmospheric conditions. Generally, microwave radio relays can transmit data over tens to hundreds of kilometers without the need for signal regeneration. Higher frequencies often allow for shorter ranges, while lower frequencies may support longer-distance transmissions, depending on the specific technology and application.

What are the key applications of high-capacity radio relay systems?

High-capacity radio relay systems are deployed in defence communications, mobile network backhaul, and disaster recovery setups. They ensure reliable, high-bandwidth connectivity across challenging terrains where fibre deployment is difficult, maintaining secure, uninterrupted communication links for mission-critical operations.
