Background

In an important step to offer free Wi-Fi services to its citizens, the Government of India introduced PM Wi-Fi Access Network Interface (WANI) program.

HFCL Solution

To give an early start to this visionary PM WANI program, HFCL offered to make Baslambi village of Haryana fully Wi-Fi enabled and present it as a role model for the rest of the country to follow.

HFCL’s Wi-Fi 6 solution, ‘IO’ was deployed to set up a village-wide Wireless Broadband Network. Considering it as a non-commercial contribution toward the advancement of rural India, HFCL deployed this project pro-bono, without charging any fee.

The Outcome

Baslambi village went Wi-Fi and set a model for not only the rest of rural India but also for the entire country to go Wi-Fi.

Next in line is Baidebettu village in Brahmavar taluk of Udupi district, which shall soon get high-speed Wi-Fi internet services for the benefit of 9,000 residents of Baidebettu and surrounding places up to a radius of 6 km.
