HFCL Satellite Communications Ltd. (HSCL) was set up to meet the growing demands and market of VSAT connectivity, as also to deliver value-added communication services to the untapped corporate sector. The company has now leveraged itself to emerge with solutions for a wide spectrum of applications, via broadband and hybrid technologies. These include video, voice, data, fax and IP traffic on a single platform.

In tune with the synergy between VSAT and other satellite communication segments, HSCL has broadened its services to deliver satellite-based broadcast solutions. These comprise of the setting up of TV uplink earth stations and satellite news gathering networks that also include Digital satellite News Gathering (DSNG) and Electronic News Gathering (ENG) solutions which are developed by the company itself. The company has designed specific solutions for the Indian Army to meet their stringent all terrain requirements.

The company has engineered specific transmission solution for the Broadcast segment indigenously to meet various broadcast needs of this industry. These include design of specific solution for News gathering application including design and development of DSGN Vans. HFCL SatCom today has positioned itself on a high slot in the DSNG market having supplied over 80% of the DSNG vans manufactured in India.

In its offering for DSNG vans HFCL SatCom integrates standard DSNG vans based on caron fiber Antenna while adding features suitable to the Indian terrain and the specific requirements of the Indian broadcasters. The company has also developed an indigenous DSGN Van using standard Antenna with full antenna control; these vans provide similar solution to the standard DSGN vans but at a much reduced cost.
